The Gulf of Chiriqui is located on Panama’s Pacific Coast, from the Azuero Peninsula to the Costa Rica border. Rich in biodiversity, pristine white sand beaches, and one the largest coral reefs in the Pacific, the Gulf of Chiriqui is the place to visit in Central America for diving, snorkeling, island hopping and sportfishing. With 36,423-acres (14,740-hectares), the Gulf of Chiriquí Marine Park in Panama’s Pacific Ocean is one of the biggest in the country.

Isla Bolaños is another beautiful island with gorgeous white sand beaches and crystal clear turquoise waters. If you are into snorkeling and marine life, this is the island to visit. Some of the beaches have coral reefs, where you can see large turtles. The waters surrounding Isla Bolaños is also where the humpback whales frequent the most during the whale migration.
Isla Paridas is the largest and the only inhabited island in the Gulf of Chiriqui. Isla Parida even has a bar and restaurant, which operates during the high season.
One of Panama’s most remote locations is the archipelago of Islas Secas in the Gulf of Chiriquí. Islas Secas is comprised of an 16 volcanic islands, covering over 1,000 hectares in the Pacific Ocean. It’s remote location is one of the reasons why the islands are still largely unexplored and intact. The waters are even more crystal clear, and are teeming with marine life. It is a must visit for avid snorkelers and scuba divers. It is also a great spot for inshore fishing. The journey from Selva Terra to Islas Secas is approximately 45 minutes to 1 hour depending on swell conditions.
